About Us
History
On April 12, 1975, twenty-six ladies met at Green Valley Country Club to sign the charter forming Liberty Point Chapter — a Bicentennial Chapter. The chapter is named for the intersection of Bow and Person Streets in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This area is commonly known as Liberty Point. It was there that the Cumberland Resolves — also known as the Liberty Point Resolves — were signed in June 1775. The signers were a group of fifty-five patriots of the region who pledged their fortunes and lives for the cause of liberty.

Our chapter presented a grant to the Fort Liberty Armed Services YMCA for their food pantry.

We make regular donations to the Fayetteville VA Medical Center.

We hosted a tea celebrating the anniversary of Lafayette’s Farewell Tour.
Meetings
Our chapter meets in the months from January through May and September through December. A typical meeting includes social time, a guest speaker, and a business meeting. We also have special meetings and teas.
We encourage anyone interested in joining DAR to attend one of our meetings to better understand the DAR organization and especially our chapter. You will learn more about our chapter by going to the What We Do webpage to read about some of the things that we do throughout the year.
